About The Project

Aviation Park Staging Ground and Infilling Works (APSG) perfectly demonstrated Santarli’s capabilities in large scale land reclamation works. At a contract sum of over $1 billion, Santarli was the first local contractor in Singapore to secure a land reclamation project. The project scope was highly extensive and some of the works involved are:

  • Construction of 4 concrete piled jetties fully equipped with 5 direct dumping platforms. In-house designed by Santarli, the innovative direct dumping platform has improved the efficiency for material dumping to 270% compared to the original method, revolutionizing the material discharging process in Singapore today. It has also won both the WSH Innovative Award (Gold) and SCAL Workplace Safety & Health Innovation Awards (Gold) for outstanding innovative improvement to safety and health standards in the workplace.
  • Management of overall staging ground. At peak, the staging ground handled over 80 thousand dump trucks per month.
  • Infilling works at the reclamation site of size 482Ha.
  • Dredging works. Approximately 20 million m3 of material was dredged using both suction and mechanical dredgers.
  • Sand importing
  • Ground improvement on soft soil with an innovative usage of geosynthetics as a working platform. Unprecedented in Singapore, the project had also successfully implemented and performed both vacuum preloading and shallow ground improvement on a large scale.
  • Rock revetment works
  • EMMP and hydrographic survey works

Staying true to our core values, Santarli improves the overall project execution constantly with numerous innovative cost-efficient construction methods for the client. A paper based on APSG was also presented as a case study during the International Conference on Case Histories & Soil Properties 2019 organized by the Geotechnical Society of Singapore.
