During the launch of the Class of 1985 Fundraising for Prof Chen Charng Ning Endowment Fund on 30 December 2020, Mr. Lee Boon Teow, MD of Santarli, presented the cheque to Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance, and Professor Ling San of NTU.

Each year, the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Association of Singapore Marine Industries, Singapore Contractors Association Ltd (SCAL) and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation, presents the “WSH Awards for Supervisors” to acknowledge their valuable contributions in cultivating safe and healthy workplaces in Singapore. This award recognises supervisors who take care of their workers under their charge by improving the safety and health performance in their workplaces.

Santarli Construction Pte Ltd (SCPL) has submitted 6 entries for RoSPA Awards 2020. The awards are as follows: (1) Construction & Management of Staging Ground & Infilling Works, (2) Design, Construction, Operation & Maintenance of Marina East Staging Ground, (3) Proposed Sea Wall and Land Reclamation of HarbourFront 4, (4) Maintenance Dredging of Pasir Panjang Terminal 1, 2 and 3, (5) Construction of 6th Waste to Energy Plant and (6) SCPL at Corporate Level. These prestigious awards have been handed to Santarli in recognition of its practices and achievements in helping its staff, customers, clients, contractors to get home safely at the end of a working day.

Santarli Construction Pte Ltd: Direct Discharge Platform Method Team was awarded the RoSPA Health and Safety Team of the Year (South East Asia) award & featured on RoSPA virtual award ceremony in 2020.

With the emergence of Covid-19 in the early part of the year 2020, a majority of industries in Singapore have been immensely disrupted. To slow the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, the government had announced and implemented a circuit breaker from April to May 2020 and was later extended to June 2020, causing supply chain disruption, completion of critical work activities, cash flow concerns, funding restrictions etc.

Moving forward, Santarli aims to develop and integrate more innovative green and gracious initiatives in the management system, and make the workplace more accommodating for all.

Santarli held our annual Lunar New Year Celebration Lunch at Santarli Building to commemorate the first official working day for the Year of the Rat. Deeply-rooted in the Santarli culture, the event started with a splendid performance by the lion dance troupe, signifying an auspicious start to the Lunar New Year.

One of the most highly-anticipated events of the year, our Annual Dinner & Dance 2020 was held at Andaz Singapore. The theme for this year was Polka Dots, Stripes and Checkered and the event saw many participants dressing up in theme for an enjoyable evening. It is a time for staff and partners to reflect on the journey of the past year and to celebrate the many achievements and milestones. The Guest of Honour for the event is Er Dr Lee Bee Wah, Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC.

Organised by the Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS), the International Conference on Case Histories & Soil Properties (ICCS 2019) is a 2-day conference where professionals and specialists from the practising industry and academic institutions from all over the world (such as USA, France, Japan and China) come together to share and learn about global case studies, research findings and latest technological advances in the geotechnical field. This year, ICCS 2019 was held at Furama Riverfront Hotel.

To promote the Chinese national culture, and commemorate 30 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China, Jingying International Group launched the “First Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage International Expo” held at Marina Bay Sands.

On 7 November 2019, Staff from Santarli went on a trip to Batam, Indonesia to attend the opening ceremony of the newly constructed shipyard by STL Marine Group. PT. DWI Utama Mandiri Sukses is a subsidiary wholly owned by STL Marine Group. Strategically located in Batam, Indonesia, the approximately 5.2 hectares new shipyard is set to mainly provide support to the Group’s operations and repair services. It is also gearing up on its facilities and resources to handle new building orders.

Santarli was presented the certification of appreciation by PM Lee Hsien Loong, for donating $100,000 to the building funds of Siglap Community Centre. In view of Santarli’s community service efforts, $5,000 was also contributed to Bukit Merah Secondary School in the aid of needy students from lower income families.

Together with the community of engineers, Santarli celebrates the 53rd Anniversary of the Institute of Engineers, Singapore (IES) at Shangri-La Hotel to mark the contributions of engineers to Singapore. During the annual dinner, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Heng Swee Keat was conferred the IES Distinguished Honorary Patron, for his contributions to the engineering profession, by the IES President Prof Yeoh Lean Weng. Minister Heng has mentioned that Engineers will play a key role in the future economy, developing solutions for complex challenges.

This year, together with the Guest of Honour Mr Lee Fook Sun, Chairman of Building and Construction Authority, the Singapore Contractors Association Ltd (SCAL) celebrates its 82nd anniversary at Swissotel The Stamford. Members of SCAL are invited for an evening of delights as well as networking with fellow contractors in the industry, business partners, associates and other stakeholders. Santarli attends SCAL Annual Dinner yearly and is a strong member of SCAL.

This year, Santarli has been awarded the WSH Innovation Award 2019 for the Construction and Management of Staging Ground and Infilling Works Project.

Santarli has shown unwavering support and participation in the events organised by Nee Soon South Community Club (NSSCC) throughout the years. This year, we are very proud to have our Director, Mr Chan Thiam Seng, as the Chairman of the NSSCC Building Fund Committee to organise a Lee Bee Wah Cup Fundraising Golf Tournament 2019 to raise funds for the upgrading of NSSCC at Orchid Country Club. Joining the event is the Guest of Honour, Er Dr Lee Bee Wah, Adviser to Nee Soon GRC Grassroots Organisations. The funds raised will transform NSSCC to be the first Zero Energy Building Community Club. Over the years, NSSCC has played an important role in forging a closer bond among the community by providing courses and organising outreach programmes for residents to promote social cohesion, racial harmony and civic responsibility.

Santarli is proud to be conferred the GOLD AWARD for SCAL WSH Innovation Award 2019 for the Construction and Management of Staging Ground and Infilling Works Project during the Safety Campaign Seminar organised by SCAL Academy. The theme for this year’s seminar is Innovation and Technology for Construction Safety.

Every year without fail, Santarli ushers in the Lunar New Year with a celebration lunch. This year, Santarli celebrated the official start of work for the Year of the Pig at Santarli Building together with partners and staff. The event started with a lion dance performance to bring good fortune and to chase away evil spirits.

Santarli Annual Dinner & Dance 2019 was held in the Carlton Hotel. The event saw many creative minds, dressing up in leopard prints and tiger strips to participate in the theme this year, Safari. Fun-filled with games and lucky draws, the dinner was a joyous one for everyone to celebrate the many achievements and milestones accomplished. The Guest-of-Honour for the event was Er Dr Lee Bee Wah, Member of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC.
